Personal Statement:

I am an outdoor instructor and aspiring pro level road cyclist with a passion for coaching and pushing my fitness to new levels every day. My main sports are Skiing and Cycling, however I have experience teaching both adults and children in paddle sports, climbing, hiking, and orienteering. My dream job is to work in the mountains teaching whilst continuing with my ski and cycling training. I would also like to gain experience in Alpine Racing and Adaptive teaching.

Education & Qualifications:

Basi Alpine Level 2

I completed a three-month instructor course during the 2017-18 ski season in France once I left school and managed to get my level 1 and level 2 teaching however at that stage I didn’t get my level 2 technical. After a few years of getting into the best shape of my life and losing 7 stone I went back to France for a one week level 2 technical exam and passed with ease.

Hobbies and Interests:

Skiing – I have been skiing since the age of 4 and have been lucky to travel away most years over my life to resorts in France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Andorra & Canada. Throughout my teens I always had a passion to go for my Ski Instructor levels so when I turned 19 that’s what I did. I now have two coaching levels for skiing and a vast knowledge of the teaching strategies and risk assessments involved.

Road Cycling Racing & Endurance Sports – I began taking part in these activities over 3 years ago when I started my weight loss fitness program. Now 7 stone lighter, I couldn’t imagine my life without road cycling, running, climbing or hiking.

Fitness – Through and out of lockdown I have managed to push my fitness to athlete level. I compete both indoors and outdoors at a high level cycling and use running / weighted hiking to compliment my training. I am excited to get back to skiing and use my fitness to improve all the aspects I struggled with before due to a lack in either strength, agility or cardio.
