Skills and strengths
Work and Volunteering Experience
In this role I took on lots of responsibility working with children in a ski resort. This meant that I had to be focused at all times to ensure everyone was having a great experience, safe and on time for their activities. I was also entrusted with occasionally helping to teach the children to ski. Part of this role also saw me working as a resort rep on transfer days, being the face of the company greeting guests at the airport and being in charge of moving up to 60 guests at a time to the resort.
In this position I have developed excellent customer service skills and productivity by working within a very hectic hospitality environment. I also learnt skills as a bartender that would allow me to settle into bar work with ease.
I excelled at not only taking orders, greeting the guests and delivering brilliant customer service, but also in using my initiative to help my colleagues. At this job Ireally gained important team working skills under pressure.
For over 3 years I delivered newspapers every morning for a local Newsagent. Working 7 days a week, from 6:30am in all weathers, this job developed my resilience and commitment to work.
Main duties included greeting diners, taking order and serving. I learnt to be comfortable and confident dealing with the public and delivering a quality service. Working in this environment, late at night, where there’s lots of people, loud music and always something to do, gave me my first experience of working under pressure.
Ates Kitchen is situated in Tooting market and offers hot food and groceries. Main duties included serving customers and working with food. As it was a small shop it was only me and the owner present, so there was always work to be kept on top off and I often had to use my own initiative.
I was a keen Sea Scout (with the 4th Streatham Sea Scouts) since the age of 9. For 2 years I volunteered with looking after the Cub section, helping them go on trips, taking them boating and weekly meetings. Managing upto sixty 8-11 year olds is not always easy but I learnt problem solving, planning and leadership skills.
