Snowboard instructor position in Nagano, Japan !! Part Time

【Job Description】

Our ski/snowboard school is located in the largest ski resort in Japan, Shiga Kogen.

We are currently looking for an English-speaking snowboard instructor.

We are seeking a snowboard instructor who loves to teach and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for performing private lessons for both adults and children.

• You will be performing snowboard private lessons for both adults and children (if you could also teach skiing, that would be a great advantage and also it would help you to earn more moeny)
• Working hours will be usually from 8:00 am to 17:00pm.
  We recommend and actively encourage our staff to take two days off weekly (except during particularly busy times, such as the New Year holidays, long weekends, etc…)
• You will be also helping preparation and operation of ski races held in Shigakogen several times from Feb to March.
• We can provide you with accommodation which is our staff dormitory located inside our hotel. Each room is usually shared by 2 staff members.
• 3 meals per day will be provided (accommodation and 3 meals per day will be provided free of charge)
• We also provide a seasonal lift pass (all mountain passes for Shiga Kogen) which you can also use during your day off, and school staff uniforms.

We have some very skillful ski and snowboard instructors, so you will also have an opportunity to improve your ski/snowboard/teaching skills!

※The skier and snowboarder who are in the pictures of this listing are also our school’s instructors!

※As the Covid-19 pandemic has calmed down, we expect a large number of customers next winter. However, in case you are not able to take lessons on a daily basis due to lack of customers in Shiga Kogen, you will also have the option to work as a part-time hotel operation staff member during the time you don’t work as an instructor. In this case, you will be paid on wages.

【Required Skills and Qualifications】

• SIA snowboard instructor certification (level 1-4) or equivalent certification
• relevant teaching experience as a professional instructor in the past
• passion in snowsports and teaching
• out-going and friendly personality
• excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills
• fluent or advanced English skills
• availability to work from early December to 31st March (negotiable)
  ※You must be eligible for a Japanese working holiday visa
